Can industrial property rights be sold, bequeathed, licensed or seized as if they were a tangible asset?

Yes, all of this is possible. The terms “Intellectual Property” and/or “Industrial Property” include rights that afford protection to intangible assets and may be sold, licensed, bequeathed or seized as if they were tangible assets.

Is it mandatory to obtain a patent or to register a trademark?

No, it is not madatory. Obtaining any of these rights is optional and grants the creator an exclusive right for use or explotation.

What are the differences between Intellectual Property and Industrial Property?

In some jurisdictions, Intellectual Property is the category that includes both Copyright and Industrial Property; the latter is used to group the legal concepts known as Patents, Utility Models, Industrial Designs, Layout Designs of Integrated Circuits, Trademarks, Commercial Names, Commercial Slogans, Designations of Origin and the Repression of Unfair Competition.

There are jurisdictions where the terms “Intellectual Property” and “Industrial Property” are used interchangeably with the same meaning.

Fernando Cordero

Has worked with the country’s most prestigious architectural firms. His compositional creations sow a command of the handling of natural light, including architectural elements and turning them into sculptural spaces. His images capture the essence of the finished work by capturing an aesthetic and scenographic vision.

Fernando Cordero has presented individual exhibits in the country and has participated in collective exhibits abroad. His photographs have been published in both national and international magazines and books.

Lecturer on photography of architecture in universities, workshops and informal meetings.

Cordero has not changed his photographic technique. He presently carries out all his photographic work with analogous processes.

Elena Gómez Toussaint

She has participated in sundry workshops with Betsabé Romero, Alfonso Mena Pacheco, Gabriel Macotela, Carla Rippey, Magali Lara and Roberto Turnbull.

She has presented her work in different individual and collective art and engraving exhibits in Mexico, France, Belgium, Switzerland and Ireland.

Her artistic activities include the creation of the wardrobe for the Theatrical Production "Egmont" (The National Theater Company) in 2009, for the theatrical production of "El jardín de los Cerezos" (The National Theater Company at the Palace of Fine Arts in Mexico City) in 2001, and for the Opera "Rigoletto" (in the Bicentennial Theater, León 2013 and the Palace of Fine Arts in Mexico City, 2014.)

Her work has been selected for the Biennial Diego Rivera exhibits (1994), in the Biennial José Guadalupe Posada engraving exhibits (1995), the Biennial Monterrey Femsa Exhibits (2001 and the National Biennial Alfredo Zalce Exhibits (2011).

She currently lives and works in Mexico City.
