Pharmaceutical Chemist and Biologist, graduate of the School of Chemistry at the National Autonomous University of Mexico.

He worked at the compounding center of Baxter S.A. de C.V., where he specialized in the preparation of enteral, parenteral, and oncology solutions. He also gained experience in the management of sterile areas.

He has 24 years of experience in intellectual property and in managing strategies for the protection of industrial property rights, He worked at the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property (IMPI) as a patent examiner in the chemistry division, supervisor of the technical opinions and quality control division, and departmental coordinator of the pharmaceutical division, where he coordinated and supervised the substantive examination of patents by a team of twenty-five examiners; he served as an official expert witness in various administrative litigation proceedings; participated in various inspection visits related to patent infringements; participated in the system for linking patents related to allopathic medicines between the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property and the Federal Commission for the Protection of Health Products (COFEPRIS); participated in the development, preparation, and updating of the Industrial Property Gazette regarding Valid Patents for Allopathic Medicines; participated in the committees on new molecules of the Federal Commission for the Protection of Health Products (COFEPRIS). He has served as a technical expert in administrative proceedings before the Tax and Administrative Courts.

He has completed academic and professional internships on intellectual property at the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the European Patent Office (EPO), the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office (OEPM), and the African Regional Intellectual Property Organization (ARIPO).

He has coordinated the filing and processing of patent applications in various countries in the Caribbean, Central America, and South America to protect industrial property rights.
